With the recent debt ceiling debacle it has become very evident that America is on the brink of a total financial collapse. And before I get into how you can prepare and profit from such an event, let me first say that we are all responsible for own financial success or ruin. Let’s stop depending on the Government to bail us out and take care of us. We should also stop blaming them for what is taking place. We have all played a role in the current state of America.
So start making better financial decisions. If you can’t afford something, don’t buy it. And only use credit cards for emergency situations. When it boils down to it, the reason we are in this mess is because the Government and other fellow Americans have got into the bad habit of spending more then what they have. Me included. So let’s all do like Suze Orman says and live below our means but within our needs.
Now let’s talk about what you can do to not only prepare for a financial collapse, but also profit from it. The first thing you should do is pay off those big debts. You will need as much money as you can get in the event of a financial collapse. That’s why you want to pay down those big debts as soon as you can. Big debts include your house, your car and things such as a boat if you have one.
Next I would suggest you create a survival kit. Your survival kit should include plenty of water, first aid materials, canned foods, guns for protection, ammo and flashlights. You should also start investing in Gold and Silver right now. A full blown financial collapse could render the US dollar worthless. By investing in Gold and Silver you will be able to protect your finances and even make a profit. Gold acts as a hedge against inflation. By investing in it you give yourself a certain level of protection.
Last but not least it is a good idea to learn how to barter. During this time you might run out of the things you need. But if you have something someone else might need, you can barter for what you need. When it boils down to it, this is not the time to panic or stress out about what is to come. Instead, prepare in advance and you will be in a place where you can profit no matter whats going on in the economy.

Find odd jobs that you can do for cash in your neighborhood. Someone always needs grass cutting and small home repairs. I’m the go-to guy for tree limb sawing.
